How are plant nutritional supplements different from liquid fertilizers?
Many farmers today are facing restrictions to the amount of fertilizer they can apply because of regulations on the application of Nitrogen and Phosphorus. Government organizations at the local, state, and federal level are moving to stop the effects of fertilizer run off on the quality of surface and ground water. The high analysis numbers of most conventional liquid fertilizers mean that for a short time there will be elevated levels of those elements available to the growing crop, yet that same solubility also means these materials can easily leave the farm through run off, leaching, or volatilization, readily tie up with other soil minerals, and shut down the soil’s natural ability to feed plants.
These unintended side effects of the reactive nature of conventional liquid fertilizers results in decreased product efficiency and causes farmer to have to apply much more material than the crops actually need, so much so that the use of Nitrogen based fertilizers in the United States has gone up over 600% since the mid-twentieth century.
How is the aea approach different?

Because this inherent immunity is now revealed by better nutrition, plant health issues that once seemed devastating and unavoidable become only minor annoyances.
Farmers also find that their standards of fruit and grain quality need to be reevaluated. Not only are fruit, and grain ears and heads larger, but they are heavier and have better color.
